TPS student wins nationals in extemporaneous speaking

June 28, 2016

Booker T. Washington High School senior Micah Cash took home the top prize in US Extemporaneous Speaking at the National Speech and Debate Association's National Tournament in June. This makes Micah the third national champion in the last four years for Washington - a feat no other school since the 1980s can claim.

While Micah is an exceptional student, coach Kelly McCracken is also optimistic about the future at BTW: "There are more great things to come from this team, not because we get a great kid here and there, but because we consistently have entire teams made up of great kids."
